Being present

I’m really starting to see the benefits of being in the present moment. Even though im not 100% present all the time. I am able to maintain for good chunks of time. I notice that every task I do or anything I work on become much easier . For example I’m reading a book today and my entire attention was focused on the book. In the past I would read a couple lines , get distracted by my own thoughts and have to back track in the book . It was a huge roadblock when it came to reading for me. Now I can just read what I’m reading and I don’t have to worry about losing focus or my attention because I’m fully invested into what I’m doing at that present moment. If I’m cooking I’m focused on the cooking and I begin to notice more. I notice smells more, the environment. It’s almost as if by paying more attention to the present moment , each moment becomes richer. It becomes full and alive of life.

For example I’m walking out the Walmart today with my groceries. The sky was beautiful, the clouds just looked amazing. It was a moment of awe. Before I would just look straight ahead and go straight to my car without even looking at anything. Yet the clouds were always there, but I just never noticed them.

I’m noticing myself that I pick up subtle cues now from things in my everyday life. One thing was when I heard Ehsan talk about the books he was interested in , I noticed he started with Taoism first. I talked to him today about a book he might find interesting and he said that was the book he was going to suggest when it came time for his turn. And I really like that aspect that the meditations have given me. I pick on subtle cues from my surroundings , It’s like life has shifted completely yet has stayed the same. I love it
